Open call - artwork production grants
Open to Thai artists and Indigenous peoples of Thailand, deCentral offers 9 artwork production grants (each THB 150,000) seeking proposals for new work that succinctly addresses our vision and mission.
Applications close 30 June 2025.
These production grants aim to assist the production and showcase of contemporary art by Thailand’s diverse artistic communities, understanding that access, capacity and visibility in the art world is at times uneven or under served. At deCentral we seek to not only elevate individual artistic practice, but also to strengthen this country’s broader cultural ecology, hoping for increased engagement, collaboration, support and global competitiveness in Thai contemporary art.
These resulting artworks will be eventually showcased at deCentral (at either of its locations).
Applications will be assessed by a distinguished jury of experts, namely Ampannee Satoh, Angkrit Ajchariyasophon, Kridpuj Dhansandors, Prateep Suthathongthai, and Som Supaparinya. deCentral is grateful for their time and artistic/curatorial expertise towards this endeavour.

Meet The Jury
Ampannee Satoh (b. 1983, Pattani) is an artist whose practice examines cultural identity, the impact of the nation state, and the role of faith in the exploration of individuality and gender. Anchored in the social and spiritual traditions of her homeland in the Pattani region of Thailand, her work embraces photography, video, performance and installation. Ampannee lives and works in Pattani.
Angkrit Ajchariyasophon (b. 1976, Chiang Rai) is an artist and former curator, founding Angkrit Gallery (2008–2016) in Chiang Rai and ARTIST+RUN (2006–2021) in Bangkok. Initially exploring identity and culture through diverse media, later shifting to political and social change after the 2006 coup; his recent works, influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, reflect on uncertainty and transformation. Through painting and site-specific installations, he allows time, nature, and experience to shape his work organically. He lives and works in Suphan Buri.
Kridpuj Dhansandors (b.1994, Buriram) is a medical doctor. Intrigued by the clash between modern medicine, science, and the bounded individual, he often explores latent pre-modern stories and their relationships through objects, such as artworks or spirit mediums. He often practices interdisciplinary work as a curator of moving images and films, as well as an art critic. He lives and works in Buriram.
Prateep Suthathongthai (b. 1973, Bangkok) is an artist whose practice explores photography, memory, and the contested histories of Thailand’s Northeast. Working with film strips and site-specific installation, his work reflects on religious architecture and the politics of knowledge. He lives and works in Mahasarakram.
Som Supaparinya (b. 1973, Chiang Mai) is an artist whose practice focuses on the impact of human activities via political, historical and literary lens; examining the changes of rivers and cities, electrical generation, environmental conflict, social resistance and more. Working across a variety of media, particularly the moving image, Som’s art embraces the documentary with an experimental approach. She lives and works in Chiang Mai.
